HPL supports the narrative layer of the territory — the element that informs, guides and interprets, while remaining materially discreet and technically reliable.
Communication made resistant
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a stratified composite material developed for long-term performance in exposed and demanding environments. Composed of layers of cellulose fibres impregnated with thermosetting resins and compacted under high pressure and temperature, HPL combines surface precision with structural stability.
Within the Floema ecosystem, HPL is used primarily, in the form of HPL+ and HPL Print, as a graphic construction material for signage and interpretive components. Its dimensional stability, resistance to weather exposure and ability to retain colour and image quality over time allow it to complement recycled plastic and metal in outdoor construction, equipment and public information systems.
Key advantages:
- High durability and resistance to UV radiation, water, frost, fire and thermal variation
- Anti-rot and anti-graffiti properties;
- Impact and abrasion resistant;
- Wide range of colours, finishes and thicknesses;
- PEFC certified;
- No maintenance required.

Specialized, high-quality production technique
HPL+ - engraved information, made to last
HPL+ is Floema’s proprietary interpretation of high-performance HPL signage. It combines CNC and laser engraving with a two-component polyurethane paint system, creating permanently integrated information layers rather than applied surface graphics.
This technique, developed and refined by Floema, transforms HPL into a material for engraved information, where text, symbols and cartography are physically embedded into the panel.

Effective and long-lasting communication
For continuous outdoor legibility
HPL+ was developed to address a recurring challenge in outdoor signage: the gradual loss of information caused by UV exposure, moisture, abrasion and vandalism. By engraving information into the material itself, Floema eliminates the fragility of surface-applied films, inks or adhesives.
The result is a signage material that maintains legibility, colour stability and graphic clarity under continuous exposure.
O resultado é um material de sinalética que mantém legibilidade, estabilidade cromática e clareza gráfica sob exposição contínua.

High performance tested by outdoor demands
A solution that endures
HPL+ demonstrates high resistance to:
- Ultraviolet radiation
- Moisture, rain and full water immersion
- Freezing conditions and thermal variation
- Impact and abrasion
- Graffiti and surface alteration
The engraved areas are finished with two-component polyurethane paint, ensuring chromatic stability and long-term protection. The material does not rot, swell or degrade, maintaining both structural and visual continuity.

Beyond communication - structural continuity
A material that complements structure
Within Floema’s construction logic, HPL+ does not replace structure — it completes it. It brings information, orientation and interpretation into systems built with recycled plastic and metal, forming coherent and long-lasting public communication infrastructures.
Where recycled plastic provides structural endurance and metal defines spatial rhythm, HPL+ introduces the narrative layer — precise, stable and quietly integrated into the territory.

Versatility and certification
Technical framework
Available in a wide diversity of colours and surface expressions — including solid tones, metallic textures and wood-like finishes — HPL+ adapts to different territorial contexts while maintaining a restrained visual presence.
HPL+ panels can be produced with engraving on one or both faces, for interior or exterior use. The material presents a low thermal expansion coefficient and is available in thicknesses of 6, 8, 10 and 13 mm, with a density of approximately 1.35 g/cm³.
The raw material is PEFC certified, ensuring responsible forest resource management.
Laminated digital printing with the best image quality on the market
HPL Print - visual richness, permanent image stability
HPL Print is a stratified laminate panel incorporating high-definition digital imagery within its structure. Unlike surface-applied prints, the image becomes part of the material itself, allowing permanent visual quality in exposed environments.
This solution is intended for interpretive, educational and exhibition signage where visual richness, photographic reproduction and colour depth are essential.

Perfect maps and illustrations for interpretive and information signage.
Image stability in outdoor contexts
HPL Print maintains:
- High resistance to UV radiation
- Stability under freezing, heat and weather cycling
- Resistance to impact, abrasion and graffiti
- Resistance to full water immersion
- Long-term chromatic stability
The panels comply with EN 438-1 and EN 438-2 standards and hold multiple European certifications for UV resistance, fire performance, smoke behaviour, wind resistance and maritime exposure. PEFC certification ensures responsible sourcing.
Available in one or two faces, for interior or exterior use, HPL Print is offered in multiple thicknesses and weights, enabling integration into a wide range of signage and architectural support systems.
